Become a Maths Buddy Volunteer

If you have a relatively good ability in maths and are good at explaining things, in particular to children, this is a fantastic opportunity to help children aged 5 to 11 years overcome their difficulties and fears in maths.

Using games and innovative methods you will be working one to one with a child for a few hours a week to help them with their ability and enthusiasm towards maths..

This is an exciting new project that was received extremely well in it's pilot last year. Contact Joe it you have any questions or would like to get involved in this project.


Volunteer Role:

  • To provide one to one assistance, guidance and encouragement to children who struggle with maths.

  • Any help the teacher may require with teaching the class.


Skills Required:

  • A good listener.

  • An Enthusiastic and constructive personality.

  • A relatively high ability in maths

  • To be able to commit to a regular half-day timeslot once every week.


Potential Skills/Experience Gained:


  • Communication skills.

  • Teaching/Classroom experience.

  • Confidence, Leadership, Teamwork and problem solving skills.
