Safe Case Study

Lucy is a first year student majoring in Psychology. She has been on the project since October 2006.

‘I find the project really rewarding, it's so lovely to be able to make older or vulnerable people feel safe in their homes. Some of the people that we visited were really flattered that students wanted to get involved with their community as this went against the stereotype they had formed of us. I found it a bit challenging at times, especially wanting to make sure you communicate information correctly and honestly without being too frightening etc. and sometimes people just want your company and for someone to listen to them and to confide things in. However you help, it's really satisfying to think you have helped someone sleep easier at night. I hope to get even more involved with LUVU next year!’
