Schools Celebration!
On Friday 23rd March children from 9 local primary schools pledged to ‘reduce, re-use, and recycle’. The event marked the end of another successful year of Lancaster University Volunteering Unit’s (LUVU) creative arts project, which was involved with 12 local primary schools, 9 of which came onto campus for the event. The Schools Celebration held art, drama and music based activities around the recycling theme ending with a big performance involving over 250 school children singing the themed song, playing the recycled instruments they made, showing their artwork to parents and a presentation from the Mayor. Some of the artwork produced is now displayed on the side of the university's sports centre.

The Schools Project Coordinator from LUVU said ‘‘The student volunteers have been really enthusiastic and dedicated throughout the project, and being able to work with so many local schools has been fantastic”.
