CommIT, Creative Arts & Activate join forces to run a successful activity day for both parents and children!
Three projects combined in June to form a day of activity for parents and children alike. Volunteers from CommIT, Creative Arts, and Activate brought together their skills and enthusiasm for a day of fun and engaging activity.
36 children from Revoe Primary School went to their community centre for a day of sport and creative arts. Volunteers from the Activate and Creative Arts projects designed and led sessions for children aged 4 - 11. The 21 parents of the children undertook IT workshops led by CommIT volunteers to gain IT skills and learn how to write and post CVs online.
One parent commented, "At the beginning of the day I kept doing things wrong and gave up very easily. In the afternoon I soon bounced back and feel more confident and completed my CV. That was my goal and I achieved it!".
