Who is the opportunity with?

Age Concern Lancaster, which provides a range of activities for older people across the county.

 

What is the opportunity?

Age Concern are looking for volunteers to help older people with their shopping on either a weekly or fortnightly basis.

You would go with the person to the shops, assist with the shopping and then the unpacking once back at their home.

You would provide friendship and support to the person you are volunteering with.

Age concern volunteers also carry out emergency shopping for an older person following discharge from hospital.

 

Other Information

You would need to be a patient, sensitive and understanding individual.

You also need to be reliable and understand confidentiality issues.

They are looking for drivers with their own cars but this isn't essential.
