Would you like to volunteer at the Prison?

Who is the opportunity with?

The Prison Service Visitors Centre which is just round the corner from the tourist information centre, just down the hill from the Castle.

What is the opportunity?

Volunteers are needed to help out during the prisoner visitors sessions which happen between 1-2 on Monday, Thursday, Friday and at weekends.

The volunteer role would be to help set up the room for the visitors with toys, magazines, refreshments etc.

When the visitors arrive the volunteer role is to talk to the visitors while they wait for their visit time. You will be trained on the visitor process so you can answer any questions they might have. Your main role is make sure that the visitor centre is well presented and accessible.
