Would you like to give advocacy support for people aged 18 and over?
Working with East Lancashire Advocacy Services you could help to support people over the age of 18.
You could choose to be involved in tasks such as: supporting individuals to look at options in relation to health and social care and support them in carrying out their decisions by listening, helping to gather information, attending meetings/assessments and assisting to write letters and making calls as instructed by the client. You may also support individuals by attending drop ins at day centres or mental health wards or support the self advocacy group. There's also the opportunity to support the organisation to raise awareness of advocacy through promotional activity and take part in a research project to open access to Black and Minority Ethnic Groups. Other opportunities include producing a newsletter, administration work, designing databases and managing the resource library.
If you're interested and would like more information on this project, please pop into the LUVU office to speak to Martha, or send us an email.
